ProfiCAM Turning
achieves optimum adaptation to machine
kinematics by offering different options. It is,
therefore, possible to use this software package to program
not only standard lathes but also multi-axis and
multi-spindle lathes, or vertical boring and
turning mills.
During programming, tool cutting edges are permanently
monitored, and they give the user some indication of
whether the finished part contour can be produced with the
tool selected. If this is not possible due to tool
geometry, the residual material is managed
further and can then be machined
separately using a different tool.
The driven tools are programed during the
same production step which allows the entire machining
process with turning and milling tools to be carried out in
one program.
