value is one of the most meaningful indicators for the
performance of a ma-chine, a production line, or a
production cluster. The OEE value shows losses of
effectiveness immediately and and allows a comparison of
machines independent of the product being manufactured.
An exact knowledge of both machine availability and
production effectiveness is the basis of a successful and
continuous optimization process. The acquisitions of data
frequently encountered today rely on a combination with PDA
systems which are ultimately based on manually entered data.
