Warehouse Management

Tool Logistics Management ToolDIRECTOR

“Finding instead of searching” - the key to reducing costs

The warehouse management is the consistent extension of the ToolDIRECTOR basic functionality.
Using this  warehouse management system with its modules warehouse configuration, warehouse management, ordering, and tool cycle, tasks such as booking, ordering, providing  tool presetting data, as well as the loading and unloading of machine depots with the order-related tools, become child's play.

ToolDIRECTOR, die Lagerverwaltung von COSCOM
A key factor in the smooth provision of tools around the clock is the knowledge of where the individual components, complete tools, chucking equipment, fixtures, and measuring media are stored. The employee is shown the storage locations for the selected components, e.g. tool cabinets, lift and paternoster systems, machine depots, personal or consignment warehouse (filled by the supplier). That means that in the event of a tool breaking during the night shift, staff members are able to see whether the broken tool is incorporated in another complete tool which is not in use at that time.
In the case of a material shortage, the ordering module allows the generation of automatic order proposals for further processing within the supervisory ERP / PPS system. If is, of course, also possible to order necessary resources manually in accordance with the principle “Two pairs of eyes are better than one” (Proposal and approval).

Facts and Standards
Graphical search for storage location.
Storage location structure to be configured freely.
Certified  and standardized selection of paternoster,  shuttle and lift systemes.
Order-related difference reports for setup and shutdown.
Order requests either through shortage or demand-driven.

Warehouse Management - Functionalities

Warehouse management  is a key element in an efficient tool management.
One important success factor is the quick and easy location of the required components. The decisive points here are the collection and analysis of inventory data, warehouse stock, and stock movements. These are a precondition for the optimization of stocks. The management of bin locations is done in configurable steps amd hierarchy levels. With the graphical warehouse layout, bin locations are shown clearly and are visible at a glance. The movements of stock and its use in the tool cycle enable the warehouse management system to determine meaningful key figures. Using a machine-related where-used ranking list makes it possible, for example, to optimize the master tools at the machines. The key figures can also be used to describe the basic equipment when a new machine is purchased. A "dead stock" report can be used to purge stocks.
All in all: Cost-cutting due to decisions made on a sound basis.
